License to...

Lucy & I are heading out in an hour or so to [hopefully] pick up our wedding license. It hasn't really sunk in for either of us yet that in 3 days we shall be husband & wife!

Plans are overrated!

We drove over to Matlacha at about 10am in the hope of picking up the wedding license, but on arrival to our pre-programmed destination it was immediately evident that no court-house belonged there. No problem, we'll try again tomorrow.

Our next plan was to meet up with Skellern et al at Lovers Key Park for a midday kayaking session. Meeting them proved to be much easier than expected, as we passed them en route and from that point were in convoy. The problem arose when we reached heavy traffic, heavy enough to have us sitting in our vehicles for over 45 minutes and moving less than a mile.

We abandoned the plan, driving off in separate directions, Skellerns to Miromar Outlets, Lucy & I to Sanibel for a spot of lunch at the Green Flash. After lunch Lucy plucked up the courage to try out the Corvette, if only for a mile or so drive onto Captiva. I clung onto my seat as, at one point Lucy must have clocked approximately 27mph!

An hour of shopping followed at the Tanger Outlets before we drove home to prepare for a visit to Villa No. 1. Within 10 minutes I was in the pool, Jessica following almost immediately after turning up. Katie followed soon after, as did Steven & Nicole and the games commenced!

We left shortly before midnight and retired for the night in preparation for what might be a busy day - at least that's what we have planned for!

Not quite as polished as Iain's, but I'm just a beginner at these things

  2. This is Ian borrowing Olivia's online identity for a while to wish you all the best for today/tomorrow/ever after. With typhoons forecast for the North West tomorrow our disappointment at not being with you is cranked up a further few notches. Hope you have an absolutely magnificent day. Enjoy every minute. We'll raise a toast of chocolate Nesquik in your honour tomorrow night!

Over to Cath...I've been following the blog, from work no less, I can't seem to get anything done! I'm so excited for you both. Can't wait to see some evidence that you've actually gone through with it! I'm not so sure about the chocolate milkshake...I thought we might raise a beer in your honour! Or champers! Have a fantastic day!!! Enjoy every second of it! All our love XXX

  3. Hi everyone on the other side of the pond! have been reading all the info so far over the last couple of days but it's so cold in our spare room where the computer is, it's been a quick in and out! I don't imagine you lot can contemplate that. We had the heating AND the fire on tonight!! Hope your seemingly relaxed state lasts for a few more days and the wedding goes well. We will be thinking about you and look forward to seeing photos. I must be off now to defrost my typing hand, - yes, just the one. This missive took half an hour!!
Love to you all, Joan and Brian xx
....That was yesterday and I failed in sending it. Today, (Weds) now and am trying again with help from an expert on the other end of the phone!(Typing with two fingers allows me to hold the phone whilst typing.) Will be thinking about you tomorrow, all the best for a wonderful day. Love again, Joan xxx
